marina dined on Sat, 7th Oct 2017 (8)
Great inner city Italian option and one of our preferred go to's when shopping in the city as the service is quick and the food very reliable.
marina dined on Sat, 7th Oct 2017 (8)
Great inner city Italian option and one of our preferred go to's when shopping in the city as the service is quick and the food very reliable.
marina dined on Fri, 6th Oct 2017 (9)
Probably the best style of Indian food we've ever had. Generous serves with great flavours and presentation and excellent Nann bread.
marina dined on Fri, 29th Sep 2017 (9)
We did the executive express lunch which at $35 for two courses with a glass of wine was just too good to pass up on. As you can probably tell we are thoroughly enjoying working our way through the Mr. H menu.
marina dined on Sun, 24th Sep 2017 (9)
Just so reliably good with great service.
marina dined on Thu, 21st Sep 2017 (10)
We have some very firm favourites that we keep coming back to but on this visit added in the soup which was a relevation, just incredibly good, basically like the sort of soup you wish you could make your self but somehow never can. Well done team Kamel with typical great and friendly service too.
marina dined on Thu, 14th Sep 2017 (7)
Sat in the bar area for the first time and it was really good. Some good daily specials.
marina dined on Wed, 13th Sep 2017 (9)
Incredibly good Indian with some twists including great deserts.
marina dined on Sun, 10th Sep 2017 (9)
Always friendly service which we appreciate.
marina dined on Sat, 2nd Sep 2017 (10)
An outstanding experience, some really interesting ingredients and combinations. The 10 courses did take some time though ie 4 hours so if you do go the whole way allow plenty of time. One thing that would be great would be to get the course list at the start to refer to, it did come with the bill but we did lose track along the way. A great night and looking forward to returning.
marina dined on Thu, 31st Aug 2017 (9)
Great food in a great location.
marina dined on Sun, 27th Aug 2017 (7)
Good pub and great regular /nightly specials worth giving a try.
marina dined on Fri, 25th Aug 2017 (9)
Second visit and enjoying going through the menu trying different dishes. All to date have been outstanding. We smartly over order so plenty of leftovers to take home.
marina dined on Tue, 22nd Aug 2017 (10)
I took a foodie friend from Sydney who absolutely loved it, thanks as always.
marina dined on Fri, 18th Aug 2017 (9)
Our first visit and we were impressed with the food. Service was a bit up and down and a couple of orders seemed to go missing but food was excellent.
marina dined on Sat, 12th Aug 2017 (9)
Consistently very good.
marina dined on Sat, 12th Aug 2017 (9)
We like to sneak a quick meal in before a movie. Generally very quick service without compromise on the quality and today we would have stayed longer but for our order going missing meant we would have missed our movie. Well handled by staff and with always great food and fair wine prices we will return for sure.
marina dined on Mon, 31st Jul 2017 (7)
The question we keep asking ourselves is was it that great? On the month of July deal it seems great at half price but the chefs sushi and sashimi platter at $40 was ok and the tempura at $15 was ok but would you be happy at full price? Probably not! Then At the end of the meal it struck me that the tempura was meant to include prawns and scallops but didn't and a sushi plate went past with more elements than we got. I pointed this out to our waitress who fixed it up and did a great job of handling things but it made us wonder if this was the way the half price orders are adjusted down from what the full price orders get.
marina dined on Sun, 30th Jul 2017 (7)
Meals took some time to come out and while they were good (pork belly and paella) the wine by the glass was quite minimal relative to the prices which we felt took away from the experience, eating out 3 to 4 times a week you get a sense of what is a reasonable amount of wine for $11-$15 a glass.
marina dined on Fri, 28th Jul 2017 (9)
Loved the first visit so come back again and the snapper and crispy skin salmon did not disappoint.
marina dined on Fri, 21st Jul 2017 (9)
We just discovered mr Hobson which is in our neighbourhood and what a great find. We shared all dishes first the oysters three ways and then the paella and lastly the strawberry plate. All were excellent. The wines by the glass are good value with a great Rose at $8. Service was friendly from all staff. We will be back for sure.
marina dined on Sun, 16th Jul 2017 (8)
A great venue whether in the bar as we were this time or the dining room.
marina dined on Fri, 14th Jul 2017 (9)
A great Albert Park gem!
marina dined on Fri, 7th Jul 2017 (9)
Lord Cardigan never disappoints and soon celebrates ten years of excellence. We were fortunate on this visit to stumble on truffle time so many dishes could be enhanced with a truffle twist. Its often hard to go past the regulars on the menu but the specials are always interesting and done with flair and technique. Can't wait already for our next visit. Ps the entrees can be made up now into little tasters portions which is a great idea.
marina dined on Sun, 18th Jun 2017 (9)
It had been some time since our last visit but will be back soon for sure, incredible value for great quality cooking. The lunch two and three course options with a glass of house wine were great, try to save room to not to miss a desert, all we had were a highlight.
marina dined on Fri, 9th Jun 2017 (8)
Great venue for larger groups in particular.
marina dined on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 (8)
Our first visit and really impressed. Great quality of fresh ingredients put together well. Chicken breast used in the pandang curry was appreciated. Serves are generous. Only negative was the coconut icecream was icy and came without the crushed peanuts listed and at $9.50 was the only thing that seemed over the odds.
marina dined on Fri, 26th May 2017 (9)
Charm has a good banquet deal with two courses and a glass of wine for $24.90 per person. We were a party of three and all picked a different main and shared them. Our friend had the Shiraz as the glass of wine which they said was fine and we had the white which appropriately was a Riesling and was really very good.
marina dined on Sun, 21st May 2017 (8)
Good prompt and friendly service. The Lebanese choices we thought were the ones to go for.
marina dined on Fri, 19th May 2017 (9)
Great flavours and generally the curries are on the hotter side so hot means really hot. Medium is what we would normally call hot and the mild still has a good kick. Service is always very friendly and a great place for a quick Thai.
marina dined on Tue, 16th May 2017 (4)
We had the veal schnitzel which was really ordinary and disappointing. The larger chips were just barely cooked through so hard and cool in the middle and the slaw was quite bitter based on the dressing. The veal was noticeably different from when we had been quite a while back. Maybe changed from pan fried to deep fried? The venue has a great vibe and decor and always good service but frankly this was just like a pre packaged frozen meal put in the fryer and then served up.
marina dined on Wed, 10th May 2017 (10)
We went pretty much with each of the specials which were delicious and the old favourites of the crispy calamari and the lamb and filo triangles. The depth of the menu is really good so that is what allows us to keep returning so regularly plus the weekly specials of course.
marina dined on Fri, 28th Apr 2017 (9)
Whatever dishes you have on your first visit to Kamel become instant favourites and we found we would reel them off straight away rather than look too deeply at the menu which has lots of options. We've found fun recently in challenging ourselves to try those hidden dishes we've never had and as a consequence discovered some more real gems.
marina dined on Tue, 11th Apr 2017 (9)
We had our daughter (grown up) with us this time and that is great at Kamel as it allows us to share a greater variety of dishes than normal. The lamb cutlets are a consistent winner, as are the filo triangles, peach and asparagus salad and the calamari. The specials are always a good consideration and the wine list while compact has always delivered even if just going with the house choices.
marina dined on Sun, 9th Apr 2017 (8)
It was a rainy day but still great to sit outside under the canvas blinds and enjoy some great pasta. The eggplant canneloni was a real find.
marina dined on Fri, 7th Apr 2017 (10)
The last couple of times we have sat outside which is a great way to enjoy the Kamel style of eating and food, always great.
marina dined on Tue, 28th Mar 2017 (9)
Great in house prepared pasta and risotto's. we really enjoyed the food and the great view across the Yarra to the city. Great value for the quality.
marina dined on Mon, 27th Mar 2017 (9)
Great location and quality to value equation was excellent with very friendly service. We will return for sure.
marina dined on Fri, 24th Mar 2017 (9)
Kamel just never disappoints. The specials are always interesting and the main menu includes plenty of fresh and tasty options. There is even a gluten free menu that is substantial.
marina dined on Sat, 18th Mar 2017 (8)
The entree zucchini flowers and the chocolate brûlée desert were excellent. The gnocchi and fish and chips were fine but just not outstanding which we normally associate with Sails. The great view remains unchanged.
marina dined on Fri, 10th Mar 2017 (6)
Location is good just opposite Luna Park.
marina dined on Sat, 18th Feb 2017 (8)
First visit and really enjoyed ourselves which was then universal consensus across a table of five.
marina dined on Wed, 8th Feb 2017 (8)
First visit and was as a business lunch. Very handy to the st.kilda road business precinct. It's in pocket of south yarra and definitely will bring my family to try.
marina dined on Tue, 7th Feb 2017 (10)
We loved the views and the food was delicious. I had the lamb salad lovely and fresh and lamb cooked perfectly. I will definitely be back
marina dined on Sat, 4th Feb 2017 (7)
The menu has returned to more of its previous gastro pub style which we think is good although if you are in the lounge side and want fish and chips or the always good veal schnitzel etc you will need to go next door to the bar. Last night we had the wagyu and the Blue Eye with the green apple and nashi pear side salads which were really lovely and a nice surprise considering some reviews. Overall everything was good the only exception with the medium steak was more well done which was a shame.
marina dined on Tue, 24th Jan 2017 (9)
Just great consistency for many years now.
marina dined on Fri, 20th Jan 2017 (9)
We were a first sitting booking at 615pm and I felt the service was rushed i.e. Removing my partners plates while I was still eating. We knew we had to be out by 815 and were done by 745 but could have had desert but opted not to. Spoilt in a small way what is always great food.
marina dined on Sat, 10th Dec 2016 (9)
Really enjoyed our first visit before a trip to the movies next door. Meals and menu were great.
marina dined on Thu, 17th Nov 2016 (8)
Good pub style food.
marina dined on Fri, 11th Nov 2016 (9)
Excellent and we loved the masaman lamb shank.
marina dined on Fri, 4th Nov 2016 (9)
Always excellent and one of the best locally but we still preferred the old interior sorry guys.
marina dined on Sat, 22nd Oct 2016 (7)
Usually before y good but we found our meals overly salty this particular night.
marina dined on Fri, 21st Oct 2016 (9)
Really enjoyed our first visit, can't wait for the next.
marina dined on Sun, 9th Oct 2016 (8)
Really enjoyed each of our menu selections after going to the movies over the road. They have a weekly paella special that looked fantastic and something we will come back to try.
marina dined on Fri, 9th Sep 2016 (8)
Really like it here.
marina dined on Fri, 19th Aug 2016 (9)
Incredibly consistent high standard.
marina dined on Fri, 12th Aug 2016 (9)
We enjoy coming here during the week as its much quieter. All the dishes we've had over the years have been very good. The building is smart contemporary architecture and looks out over the vines. it's great to do a wine tasting before the meal to help decide on a wine choice plus the wine which is estate grown is very reasonably priced.
marina dined on Thu, 11th Aug 2016 (8)
We went on a Thursday night after a recent MIFF screening and there was a great special of a burger with chips and a beer for $15. I have had the tasting played before and they are very good too plus the selection of beers is as you'd expect excellent.
marina dined on Sun, 7th Aug 2016 (8)
Good corner bar in the old post office building.
marina dined on Sat, 6th Aug 2016 (8)
Great attentive service, they were very keen to make sure we had a good experience and I liked the fact that when we asked is that enough they said yes rather than trying to us more than we needed. All the serves were generous and were just good Greek cooking. We really enjoyed the goat, the king prawns, beetroot salad and the shared desert platter.
marina dined on Fri, 29th Jul 2016 (9)
First visit and really impress, generous serves of great food.
marina dined on Tue, 12th Jul 2016 (9)
Apart from good food the outlook is great. David's ribs were a little bit dry but the attentive staff and kitchen fixed with some lovely ju.
marina dined on Sat, 25th Jun 2016 (9)
This time we took some friends who have great taste in good food and with one of an Italian heritage they were delighted with their choices of the gnocchi and the veal while we as always find it hard to go past the Marinara.
marina dined on Sun, 19th Jun 2016 (8)
Very much a favourite when we just can't be bothered eating at home and just want some great Thai curries and green tea and coconut ice cream.
marina dined on Wed, 8th Jun 2016 (9)
Kamel is just a great option for a great meal in Albert Park. The specials are always changing and always worth checking out. Never had a bad meal over many years.
marina dined on Sat, 4th Jun 2016 (8)
Great presentation and flavours and not at all stoggy although the English influence was less than we thought it may have been. Really good bar upstairs for a pre dinner drink.
marina dined on Sat, 28th May 2016 (9)
We hadn't dined for for some but pleased to say the standard is still excellent. The oysters were just fantastic as was the snapper. Service was very good too.
marina dined on Sat, 14th May 2016 (9)
marina dined on Fri, 13th May 2016 (10)
Food was delicious we were both very happy with the device and lovely outlook to the garden
marina dined on Sun, 1st May 2016 (7)
we enjoyed our evening and the Pisco sour's had a real kick.
marina dined on Sat, 30th Apr 2016 (8)
We had the roast duck and veal. Both not too small nor too large and very well cooked and presented. The green apple and almond pie was fantastic. The pavlova just needed some cream to help cut through the sugar but was still very good. We both thought the wine list represented excellent value with some interesting choices available. We had the Chardonnay from Gisbourne, who would have thought?
marina dined on Mon, 25th Apr 2016 (9)
Pacific Rim is always reliable for that great affordable night out when you can't be bothered cooking at home and they have a great policy of opening on public holidays when many places are closed (plus no holiday surcharges).
marina dined on Fri, 15th Apr 2016 (8)
The pasta is always excellent. The gracebrook Chardonnay at $45 a bottle is a bargain. The crab risotto was a little on the small side but probably reflected the ingredients. We Always enjoy a dinner at Cosi.
marina dined on Thu, 14th Apr 2016 (9)
First visit and to celebrate a birthday. My mother dined with us and she has some food allergies. The staff were very attentive and could not have been more helpful. Some good value wine choices top off an excellent menu with every dish cooked to perfection.
marina dined on Sun, 10th Apr 2016 (9)
A very reliable neighbourhood gem with a great menu and the food is always beautifully presented using quality ingredients. Since our last visit there is a nightly special that offer's a dish well below its normal cost so thats something to check out. We went for that and on sundays its the Seafood Combination in a birds nest (made out of potato lace) and that was a very good decision.
marina dined on Sun, 3rd Apr 2016 (8)
Great pre show venue (in this case for the comedy festival) as the share plates are always prompt and offer a great variety. Beers of course are good, can't get past the Beechworth Pale Ale.
marina dined on Mon, 28th Mar 2016 (9)
These guys make all their curry pastes on site and offer great service and have very generous portions relative to the reasonable prices. I also note they use top class ingredients and in the green chicken curry use breast meat which I prefer. Its a great all rounder and you can BYO to boot at just $5 per bottle.
marina dined on Sat, 12th Mar 2016 (8)
Great pub menu with some twists you wouldn't expect on the main menu and specials board. A great off the Main Street gem worth a few visits.
marina dined on Tue, 23rd Feb 2016 (4)
This visit was disappointing. I normally order gnocchi which is consistently good but as it was unavailable chose the chicken Parma which was well below standard.
marina dined on Sun, 21st Feb 2016 (10)
Loved the food, the atmosphere and the view. I recommend the Crystal Bay Prawn Tails as the Appetiser, delicious. The slow cooked beef ribs, which they all loved. I ordered the fish Thai ravioli with crispy noodles on top.
marina dined on Sat, 6th Feb 2016 (10)
Always such a great experience, welcoming service and great food matched with a thoughtful wine list.
marina dined on Fri, 15th Jan 2016 (9)
We always enjoy ourselves at Cosi and menu changes within the same style so continuity is good while still giving you a new surprise with each visit.
marina dined on Sun, 3rd Jan 2016 (9)
Persimmon overlooks the rear garden of the national gallery of Victoria and its exhibits so it's very pleasant. Meal portions are generous. We shared the charcuterie board which was a great choice. I had the soufflé entree as a main and my husband the lamb rack. We thought both were excellent.
marina dined on Sat, 5th Dec 2015 (10)
The service is excellent. The lamb triangles are a favorite. The peach salad was fresh and tasty. The beef ribs are a bit fatty for me. Seafood special was good. We had the Turkish sweet sharing plate for dessert, I highly recommend this.
marina dined on Thu, 3rd Dec 2015 (7)
Great waterside location.
marina dined on Tue, 17th Nov 2015 (8)
Great views across the river. We like the booths inside. Good for pre or post the theatre.
marina dined on Sun, 15th Nov 2015 (10)
The food is Faultless even though you are paying $45 for a main meal. However it is worth every cent. The service above and beyond and it has that cool European feel about it. Love Punch Lane!!
marina dined on Fri, 23rd Oct 2015 (8)
Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and the girl who looked after us was amazing. I have been back a few times and even though it is a bit pricy for a pub meal it's worth it.
marina dined on Fri, 9th Oct 2015 (8)
We looked up all the reviews and everything they said were true. The Wagu beef did just melt in the mouth. The sashimi was outstanding (and we eat a lot of Japanese), the Scampi was cooked to perfection. We sat at the teppanyaki bar, I love the theatre of it all. It's a place to go for special occasions.
marina dined on Mon, 21st Sep 2015 (9)
This was a hugh success. My very fussy mum (with allergies) loved her fish and they were very accommodating on her selections of what she could have. I had the gnocchi which was fantastic! David had a rib eye steak cooked exactly how he likes it. All in all a great night. Thank you for the kind service towards my mum as well. We will definitely be back
marina dined on Thu, 17th Sep 2015 (10)
Always great food and excellent service. We had the seafood special and the vegetable special, which we shared between two of us. Generous serves. And then of course we top up with the lamb triangles. love love love.
marina dined on Thu, 10th Sep 2015 (10)
A favourite of ours. We love the vegetarian dishes you can choose from. But there is also plenty of meat choices if you want that as well. The lamb triangles are a must have for us. Beetroot salad was delicious.
marina dined on Sat, 5th Sep 2015 (10)
Took my very fussy Sydney friend here for dinner. She loved it, Great Views of Melbourne, excellent service and it has a great vibe. Noisy, talking and music which I love. We started at the bar and then moved onto our table. Bombay Saphire gins for all. The food was outstanding, I highly recommend the ravioli.
marina dined on Sun, 30th Aug 2015 (8)
We were a table of 5 people. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere. Love the interior of this place. We all ordered steaks, so if you love your meat come to this place. They did a great job getting all our medium, medium to well done and rare spot on. We didn't need sides as the main meals were large enough. The Sticky Date pudding was a huge and you could share this between two of you. Highly recommend.
marina dined on Tue, 18th Aug 2015 (8)
The atmosphere is always good, great lighting and comfy chairs, very good service. Table of 7 people. Some of the food was great, like the Buddha's Delight, a combination of stir-fried fresh tofu, mixed mushrooms. The San chou Bao was delicious and filling. BUT our favourite 'Fried squid in spice salt' wasn't quit up to its normal deliciousness. They cater for gluten free, which is fantastic for my 82 year old mum. We had a great night.
marina dined on Thu, 13th Aug 2015 (9)
Excellent service, very friendly staff. We love Japanese food and this place did not disappoint. Authentic Japanese food, felt like we were back in Tokyo. Where we had just visited recently. I loved the lantern tree in the middle of the restaurant. The sushi was excellent.
marina dined on Sun, 26th Jul 2015 (8)
The food is always good, we love the sizzling prawns, the saag gosht (lamb), smoked spiced eggplant. The service can be a bit hit and miss. Some times they are very attentive and other times not so much. The atmosphere lost a few points with me as I find the restaurant very cold. As I looked around every one was still wearing their coats...so maybe invest on a heater that actually works...
marina dined on Sat, 25th Jul 2015 (9)
I love the new Taxi Kitchen which has had a revamp. No longer the fine dining, white table cloths, but much more approachable, casual, with a real vibe about it. Loud music. Which some might find annoying (not a place I would bring my 80 year mum). I loved it. The food was outstanding, the views alone should bring you to this place. Food: We ordered two Appetisers tempura prawn tails with yuzu&nori salt in a lettuce cup leaf and steamed buns with spicy lamb and szechuan cucumber. I would order these again in a minute. Main Meals I had the Balmain bug tail ravioli with tomato and chilli sambal (crispy noddles ontop) what a taste sensation...you have to order this. David choice was Stockyard's wagu porterhouse with horseradish cream and yakiniku dipping sauce....he loved loved this...Dessert one Black Currant Souffle with apple...nice enough. David also had a glass of the Mr Mick Cabernet Merlot 2009 which was only $9.50 a glass. Great value, love the revamp and will definitley be back with a 20+ kids who will love the more casual and vibey atmosphere,
marina dined on Fri, 24th Jul 2015 (9)
This is a favourite for the girls lunch. We love the atmosphere, the service and the food. Persimmon has never disappointed in the years we have been coming. We always do the 2 course special (this has gone up in price to $55 per head) but this includes a glass of wine as well. We used our NVG membership card which took 10% off the bill. Great Value.
marina dined on Sat, 18th Jul 2015 (10)
A neighbourhood gem. I ordered the Grilled green prawns and calamari, with lime and palm sugar dressing, avocado and asian leaves, peanut and sesame which is normally an entree but they did this as a main meal size for me. Very geneours in its size. David had Duck breast, roasted with cardamom salt, duck and pistachio nut sausage on mash potato with sautéed silverbeet and pickled plum. The duck was a little tough, but the flavours and the pistachio nut sausage was outstanding. We shared a Roasted beetroot, orange, walnut, cherry tomato, witlof and Yarra Valley fetta salad, just beautiful. I highly recommend Lord Cardigan. We used our entertainment card which saved us $37. Great Value
marina dined on Tue, 14th Jul 2015 (4)
We went here for lunch. Today the food was not good. The lasagna was dry and tired looking like it had been sitting in the warmer most of the day. The calamari was okay, probably the best of what was ordered at the table. I wouldn't rush back here. The service was good. The food ordinary.
marina dined on Sat, 11th Jul 2015 (10)
David and I love Cosi. When we are in the mood for real Italian food this is where we come. Service was excellent. David always orders the Marinara Linguine, they have changed it to squid ink linguine which he wasn't that rapt in. In his words to much seafood taste going on. I had the fish special, fish was cooked to perfection. Highly recommend. Now I'm not normally a dessert person, but tonight I ordered the Peanut Butter Semifreddo. Sounds weird I know...but I would go back and just order this and forget the rest....I hope they keep this on the menu. We ordered wine, side dishes and David even had a dessert wine... the entertainment card bought the amount to $52 a head. Fantastic Value....
marina dined on Fri, 19th Jun 2015 (9)
This is our local and we love the service and the food is always good.
marina dined on Mon, 20th Apr 2015 (8)
The food was fantastic as was the service. I had the fish special, it was perfectly cooked and very tasty. The rest of the table had stakes and every one was happy with their dish.
marina dined on Fri, 10th Apr 2015 (9)
Always happy with the food, the service and the atmosphere. Love the lamb triangles always a favourite of ours. The mushrooms with fetta delicious. Highly recommend Kamel
marina dined on Fri, 20th Mar 2015 (8)
I have given this top marks for the food and the service. It is a place that should be packed and buzzing but it was empty and lacking in atmosphere. It is pricey but the food is beautiful.
marina dined on Mon, 16th Mar 2015 (8)
Always reliable and pleasant. The service is always friendly. Ideal for late supper after theatre show.
marina dined on Fri, 6th Mar 2015 (8)
Excellent cuisine and lovely atmosphere
marina dined on Sat, 21st Feb 2015 (9)
Came here for my birthday lunch. Table of 7 people. The service here is usually excellent...been a few times in my life. But today they seemed a little frazzled, maybe because it was on the same day as 'White Night' and they were prepping for that as well. We did the $49 2 course lunch deal with a glass of wine included (use to be $45). I had for entree the mini twice baked cheese soufflé, presentation beautiful and taste fantastic and the main meal Pan-fried barramundi|soft shell crab|thai curry mussels|coriander. Two of us ordered this and both of us loved it. Mum and my husband ordered the Duck....tough as an old boot...was the description...so give this a miss. Seared Swordfish was also a favourite..The wine that came with the deal was French and also very good quality. Highly recommend Persimmon
marina dined on Mon, 16th Feb 2015 (6)
We have been coming here for years. We have always had great service and the food has been a bit hit and miss. We are a large group 8 people. We come in late normally 9pm after the theatre. For us it ticks most of the box's. We love sitting in booths so we can all talk, we don't want to walk to far to get a meal after the show. The food on the whole is good. Sometimes it's great, sometimes it's not so great. This night we all cleaned our plates up, one hiccup was Mum got the wrong steak cooked for her, she wanted scotch fillet because it a tasty cut. However she got the more expensive eye fillet, which she didn't really want. Not a great problem and the staff were so apologetic. Not the waitress' fault either as she read the order back to us....lovely girl in training. she felt really bad. We keep coming back, so they must be doing something right.
marina dined on Fri, 16th Jan 2015 (8)
Always a pleasure eating here. Never disappointed. The Food is First class

meet for a business breakfast and all enjoyed their meals.
marina dined on Fri, 14th Nov 2014 (9)
Another great night consistently excellent. What more can you ask for. Extremely fine food, beautiful flavours and top quality produce used.
marina dined on Sat, 1st Nov 2014 (9)
We love this place so much we came back the next night with friends because we wanted to try the Duck, the zucchini and corn feta fritters, and quite a few more dishes. All delicious...I could keep coming back night after night just to get through them all...love Kamel
marina dined on Fri, 31st Oct 2014 (9)
My husband and I dropped in for a quick dinner. You can eat very reasonably here and so tasty. We all ways order the lamb lentil fill triangles with yoghurt and we shared the crispy calamari and a delicious moroccan salad (which is very filling). Highly recommend this place.
marina dined on Tue, 21st Oct 2014 (9)
Great food and very friendly service had a few laughs with the waiter. I love the atmosphere of Punch lane. I had the roast baby snapper, cooked perfectly.

This is one of our favourite restaurants. It is a little pricey but it's worth it. The food is consistently good. We used our Dimmi $50 voucher this night which brought the bill down to the 30-40 range and we went on the Tuesday night which is BYO a bottle a wine for $10. Without this it would have been a lot more per person. We had oysters to start as well as our main meals. Delicious!

Always great service and excellent food.

Consistently fine food, great service and great atmosphere. I love the spicy squid and it is gluten free.
marina dined on Fri, 5th Sep 2014 (8)
The service is always good. My veal scallopini was very generous and delicious, however davids duck was a little chewy and rare/bleu a cold raw centre. Which he did not enjoy. This might be how the duck was meant to be cooked, so maybe he should have asked the question. "How is it cooked"???. I do love this this restaurant, the atmosphere and the service. I will be ordering the veal from now on...

We had a lovely night the food was good. I recommend their gin cocktail it was delicious.
marina dined on Tue, 12th Aug 2014 (10)
If you can believe this it worked out to be $25 a head. We used our entertainment card which got us $40 off. We BYO our own wine $9 a bottle and we ordered mainly stir fry dishes which are amazingly generous to share. There was 11 of us for dinner. On top of all that everything was gluten and Lactose free. My 80 year old mother normally goes out and gets some version of a dish, which can be hit and miss sometimes. Mum was very happy, she could even have the Salt and Pepper Calamari as they use potato starch. We had a great night, the staff were very helpful and the food was delicious.

It ticks a lot of box's for my family of 9. We meet here after the theatre once a month. It's convenient to get to, we like to sit in the booth as we can all talk and hear each other. The service is always great. But....the food is okay, not horrible but not great... We wonder if it is due to the lateness of our ordering after 9pm sometimes. When I walked in I saw some one eating risotto which looked perfect, but when I got it, it was dry and thick!! disappointed again...
marina dined on Sun, 27th Jul 2014 (7)
Even though the service was not great this night, the food was still up there for taste and quality. We BYO our own wine and used our 25% off the total bill Entertainment voucher. This is why it was so reasonable. So I can forgive the poor service, usually it is very good. My favourite curry is Lamb Saag,
marina dined on Fri, 20th Jun 2014 (10)
This is our favourite restaurant. Beautiful food, wine and service. I had a whole snapper, a very generous serve. David had the duck pie which he said was very nice and Tess had lamb rump, she was full of praise. You cannot go wrong with a night out at this restaurant we all highly recommend this place. Cheers!

We had dinner here on Sunday night....B.Y.O night. This makes for a very reasonable bill. The atmosphere was very authentic. I had the Beef Bourguignon, which was delicious. The service was very friendly and if your ordering dessert the Profiteroles were amazing. I hope to be back as there were so many other things on the menu I wanted to try.
marina dined on Sat, 10th May 2014 (10)
Great curries especially the Saaf Gosht, the sizzling prawns. It is also BYO with $4.50 per person corkage and we used our entertainment card so all in all it was a very reasonable night out with our family. Highly recommend this place with a group of friends or family.
marina dined on Fri, 9th May 2014 (10)
Great food! Lovely people! It was a cold night so we both ordered the crumbed veal with mash potato it was one of the nights special. David had the soufflé for dessert and was worth the 20 min wait. I had the fig tart...also good. We used our entertainment card which made it a very reasonable night out.
marina dined on Fri, 2nd May 2014 (10)
Very friendly service, the waiter did a fantastic job. The food is high quality and the environment is beautiful. We chose to start with cocktails of which they have a few to choose from, I recommend the 'Italian 75' yum! Then we had the oysters to start with, natural and a twist on kilpatrick which was delicious. The main meals where very generous in size and you really don't need to many side dishes. I had the fish cooked to perfection and beautifully presented as was the other dishes the duck and the steak....all beautiful (if i had to be picky it was a little heavy on the salt). All in all it was a great night with great food and service. Oh we used our entertainment card which bought the price down to $58 a head.

We are never disappointed with Lord Cardigan. The food is elegant in its flavours, credit to the chef John Singer and the atmosphere is warm and friendly, which is all credit to Dominique. The husband and wife team have created a favourite neighbourhood gem. Thank you

We have always found Cosi to be a reliable. Great service and great food. We had starters, yummy spicy eggplant chips, our mains were Mariana Linguine full of tasty seafood. A beautiful bottle of wine and the rocket and pear salad went beautifully with the pasta.
marina dined on Sun, 6th Apr 2014 (10)
If you love our steaks as we do you can't go past this place. It's pricy but worth it. The staff were extremely friendly welcoming me by name. Looked after us all night, explaining all the cuts of meat and showing each one on a board. Our steaks were all cooked to what we ordered, we loved the onion rings and the chunky chips and the wild mushrooms (which apparently were picked in Red Hill that day) in paper bark, were well worth the journey....delicious. I would definitely go back.
marina dined on Sun, 16th Mar 2014 (10)
You must try the Hong Kong Steamed fish, it was simply delicious. We also tried for the first time the Humble tofu in Mala sauce, again was very nice. I used my $50 Dimmi voucher which made the bill very reasonable. Cheers Dimmi

When we travel to Sydney we love to eat here. It's very friendly and fresh tasty food. I love the big Buddha and the smell of incense on the way in. We had dinner with friends. Pre dinner drinks, then starters, a few main dishes we shared and dessert and a bottlle of red. So very reasonable price of $50 a head.
marina dined on Fri, 7th Mar 2014 (10)
Just my husband and I this time for a romantic dinner. We had a Wok tossed fish which was delicious. Aja fried rice is a must. We love that Aja is BYO wine.
marina dined on Fri, 21st Feb 2014 (10)
AJA is the best Asian Cuisine Restaurant in Melbourne ! I pinched this from someone else's review but it says it all. It is spectacular food. We BYO a bottle of wine which is a bonus and makes our family dinner more reasonable in price. Will be back for more very soon
marina dined on Sun, 16th Feb 2014 (10)
We had lunch here with friends. When asked where should we go? I didn't hesitate in the knowledge that Kamel has fantastic food. We shared our dishes, which we love to do. Carrot and Beetroot salad, Seafood Clay Pot, Crispy Calamri and Beef Berbere Salad. All were delicious. Every time we go there we always find new things to order. Love Love Love this place.
marina dined on Fri, 7th Feb 2014 (10)
My husband and daughter and myself went in for a quick dinner. We had Lamb and lentil filo triangles with yoghurt, a favourite of ours. The moroccan salad of warm cauliflower red and white quinoa pine nuts, chickpeas and feta, very generous serve for 3 people to share. Roasted pork belly with fennel orange black olive salad, again we love. Well done Kamel
marina dined on Thu, 19th Dec 2013 (10)
We shared the beetroot, pistachio and feta cheese salad and the gluten free calamari. I love the food, fresh, tasty and big enough serves to feed everyone. They even had a beautiful bottle of Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc wine. Love love love

The last time we went here the food was outstanding. Not so much last night, the food was very middle of the road and came to the table luck warm. Very disappointed. So no consistency here.

It's our local. Always good quality food, service. We love Aja.

This restaurant is an exceptional Thai dining experience, I loved the green chicken curry, the Thai Basil and the beautiful fresh vegetables used in this dish made it my favourite. The dishes were beautifully presented and the night was very relaxing. The service was attentive, clearing away promptly and cleaning the table up from any spills. Water always topped up. We took our 24 year old discerning son and he will be back with his girlfriend for a romantic date.
marina dined on Mon, 16th Sep 2013 (7)
I was disappointed, I ordered the barramundi, when it arrived it was raw. They were very apologetic and took it back to the kitchen, the waiter explained they were going to cook another piece from scratch. So by the time it came every one else had finished their meals. The fish was nice. So I probably wouldn't go back, even though they were very nice about it all.
marina dined on Mon, 2nd Sep 2013 (8)
Good casual friendly atmosphere.
marina dined on Mon, 26th Aug 2013 (3)
The food was very ordinary especially for the cost. I had the Beer Battered fish and chips. The fish was not crispy but soggy...left me disappointment.

La Citta has a great vibe, the restaurant was busy and full of atmosphere. The food was generous in size and delicious. We had the Eggplant chips with chipotle mayo to start with, which I highly recommend. I had the homemade potato and carrot gnocchi with rosemary and lamb ragu, Delicious! Our meals were cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. Would definately recommend to all. The night was made that much more enjoyable by the fantastic service by all the workers.
marina dined on Fri, 5th Apr 2013 (9)
I love the atmosphere at Cosi, we sat in the leather banquette. The staff are relaxed and friendly. The Calamari was delicious and the Linguine Marinara was perfect. Would definitely go back.
marina dined on Sun, 10th Mar 2013 (10)
We absolutely loved this place. Great atmosphere, great service, great food. I ordered the baked baby snapper and some side dishes but we really didn't need the side dishes as the main meal was very generous. The snapper was cooked to perfection. My son and daughter ordered the king salmon which they both loved. My husband ordered the pork (odd choice for him) he said it was a bit tuff.
