Plage Restaurant

Cremorne

Joan dined on Sun, 10th Dec 2017 (8)

Really nice to find a local gem that opens on Sunday and Monday evenings. Will definitely be back.

Komatsu Japanese Cuisine

Hobart

Joan dined on Sat, 25th Nov 2017 (4)

Not refined Japanese food, more like what you get from a food court.

Josef Chromy

Relbia

Joan dined on Sat, 25th Nov 2017 (10)

Definitely the best food experience we've had in our 17 day Tasmania holiday. Beautiful venue, food and service. Will sure be back for more.

Ester

Chippendale

Joan dined on Mon, 18th Sep 2017 (8)

There were 8 of us for dinner on a Monday night. We love their main courses, most entrees but slightly disappointed with the desserts.

Sake Restaurant & Bar The Rocks

The Rocks

Joan dined on Wed, 13th Sep 2017 (6)

Not very authentic Japanese food at a hefty price. Very average food, lacking freshness and soul. There are much better Japanese restaurants in Neutral Bay with half the price tag. Very disappointed.

Jade Temple

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Sat, 2nd Sep 2017 (5)

Chinese food more aimed at the Australians. Good ingredients but wasted on the skills. Limited yumcha menu. First and last time for us, sorry .............

Efendy

Balmain

Joan dined on Sat, 26th Aug 2017 (6)

There were 8 of us and we went for the Charcoal Feast. We find that there were a little too much meat, but not enough vegies or salads. Quality of food otherwisie was pretty good.

Pilu At Freshwater

Freshwater

Joan dined on Sat, 22nd Jul 2017 (8)

One of our favourite restaurants in Sydney. Perhaps because it is winter, everything was a bit on the heavy side. Will have to go back in summer for their homemade pasta.

Anason

Barangaroo

Joan dined on Sun, 9th Jul 2017 (10)

Great food and service. Will definitely be back for more.

INDU

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Sat, 1st Jul 2017 (6)

The food is not bad, but it doesn't taste anything like Indian at all.

Cottage Point Inn

Cottage Point

Joan dined on Sun, 25th Jun 2017 (9)

What a lovely spot!! Seafood were beautiful and fresh. Wagyu short-rib was pretty average. Chocolate dessert was not great either.

Yayoi Garden

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Sat, 20th May 2017 (8)

Good for pre-theatre before shows at Opera House. Not the best Japanese around, but very reasonably priced.

Sasaki

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Sat, 29th Apr 2017 (8)

Most dishes are pretty good, the duck and steamed egg were standouts. The clams were so overcooked that it became chewy. Very Japanese little eatery feel. Menus can be more elaborate so that people know what they are expecting instead of having to ask the waiters all the time. Will definitely go back again and try the rest of the menu out.

Public Dining Room

Mosman

Joan dined on Fri, 28th Apr 2017 (10)

One of my favourite restaurants in Sydney. When it's on a beautiful day like today, nothing beats it apart from your company.

Via Alta

Willoughby

Joan dined on Thu, 27th Apr 2017 (8)

We have been in Via Alta a few times and used to love it. Went to their regional dinner of Puglia this evening with the new chef from the same region. Slightly disappointed with the food, especially the starters and the pasta, but the main was pretty good. Dessert was OK and wine pairing good.

nel restaurant

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Fri, 7th Apr 2017 (9)

Friday lunch today was beautiful. We were told that they have a different menu every week. Will definitely go back for more and try their dinner menus as well.

Danjee

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Sun, 12th Feb 2017 (3)

Waiters were inexperienced, stingy side dishes, overpriced especially on the BBQ meats. Worst Korean restaurant experience so far.

St Isidore

Milton

Joan dined on Thu, 2nd Feb 2017 (9)

Another local gem in Milton. Will definitely be back for more.

Cupitt's Kitchen

Ulladulla

Joan dined on Sun, 29th Jan 2017 (8)

Slightly disappointed this time with the food, not sure whether it's because it is a Sunday and the kitchen was too busy. The apple soup was still beautiful though.

Eleven Bridge

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Tue, 13th Dec 2016 (8)

Great service and very good wine list. Food is nice but tends to be a bit too salty (with both our mains). House made bread, butter and ricotta was the best.

Jersey Rd. Bistro

Woollahra

Joan dined on Sat, 19th Nov 2016 (9)

Would love to see more salads and pasta dishes in the menu.

Pei Modern

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Sat, 12th Nov 2016 (6)

Both our entrees were pretty good, but the mains were disappointing (kale was so salty that it was not edible). Bread and coffees were very nice.

Bei Amici

Darling Point

Joan dined on Sat, 29th Oct 2016 (9)

Our second visit to this neighhood gem, will definitely be back for more.

Ormeggio at the Spit

Mosman

Joan dined on Fri, 9th Sep 2016 (10)

My favourite restaurant in Sydney, fine dining in a beautiful and informal setting.

Public Dining Room

Mosman

Joan dined on Sat, 27th Aug 2016 (9)

One of my favourite restaurants in Sydney. Never disappoints.

Bei Amici

Darling Point

Joan dined on Sat, 20th Aug 2016 (10)

Everything was perfect for a little family restaurant. Will definitely be back for more.

Pilu At Freshwater

Freshwater

Joan dined on Sat, 13th Aug 2016 (9)

We always love the entrees and mains, but the desserts need some improvement. Wine recommended by the sommelier is a little disappointing this time around too.

LuMi Bar & Dining

Pyrmont

Joan dined on Sat, 6th Aug 2016 (7)

Inclusion of a simple a la carte menu and some side dishes will be great. They also need to improve on their acoustics, as we find the place rather noisy and it wasn't even half full.

Moon Park

Redfern

Joan dined on Thu, 14th Jul 2016 (8)

What a pity that they are closing. Love their modern Korean food.

Popolo

Rushcutters Bay

Joan dined on Wed, 29th Jun 2016 (3)

Had a great meal there a couple of years ago. Going back for one of their regional dinners this time and the food was so not up to it. Wondering if they have a new chef or that they don't really know food from other regions of Italy. An utter disappointment.

Golden Century

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Wed, 15th Jun 2016 (3)

I guess most Chinese restaurants are like that, they don't treat their staff well and no one wants to be there. This restaurant has been around long enough and they are one of the most expensive as well. None of the waiters wear a smile and ours wouldn't even bother to say a word when taking our orders. Dessert was bad, sweet soup with loads of cornflour. Really thirsty afterwards, must be from the MSG they use. Won't be back for a long time.

SEFA Kitchen

Bondi

Joan dined on Sat, 11th Jun 2016 (6)

Food tends to be very salty. Won't be going back in a hurry.

ARIA

Circular Quay

Joan dined on Wed, 8th Jun 2016 (9)

Such an icon of Sydney. Food and service is always great. Hope it stays, not like the other fine dining restaurants that close down one after another.

Baccomatto Osteria

Surry Hills

Joan dined on Mon, 30th May 2016 (9)

Really nice food and reasonably priced too. Will definitely go back.

Golden Century

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Sat, 14th May 2016 (8)

Good quality, but very overpriced Chinese food. Were hoping to have an enjoyable dinner out, the food came out so quickly that we feel like we were in a food court.

Public Dining Room

Mosman

Joan dined on Sun, 1st May 2016 (9)

One of my favourite restaurants. Will definitely be back.

The Bathers' Pavilion

Mosman

Joan dined on Sat, 16th Apr 2016 (6)

Nice spot, right at the beach. Food was pretty average. Won't be back in a hurry.

Bamiyan Afghan Dural

Dural

Joan dined on Thu, 24th Mar 2016 (8)

We went for the 4 course banquet. Food was lovely, but simply too much meat.

Bamiyan Afghan Dural

Dural

Joan dined on Sat, 20th Feb 2016 (9)

We waited for 45 minutes for the entrees to arrive, and the main dishes came not long afterwards. Despite the wait, the food was absolutely beautiful. Will definitely try again.

The Spice Room

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Sat, 13th Feb 2016 (6)

We ordered the mixed entrees and mixed tandoori to share which were disappointing. Didn't order any main dishes and went straight to dessert and masala teas and they were beautiful. Service was great, will have to go back and try something else. The curry and rice dishes next table look pretty good.

Gai Thai

Coffs Harbour

Joan dined on Sat, 23rd Jan 2016 (6)

The restaurant has changed hands for about a month and the new owners are Vietnamese. We had one Vietnamese dish which was nice but their Thai dishes were disappointing.

Wasabi Restaurant & Bar

Noosa Heads

Joan dined on Wed, 20th Jan 2016 (7)

We went for the degustation. Food was nicely prepared, but we find there to be too many fish dishes and the whole meal was lukewarm if not cold. In the end, we had to order an extra bowl of miso soup.

The Tamarind

Maleny

Joan dined on Tue, 19th Jan 2016 (8)

Very tasty with beautiful fresh herbs. Snapper was really nicely done. Bit dear for Thai food, but worth it for special occasion.

Ormeggio at the Spit

Mosman

Joan dined on Wed, 30th Dec 2015 (10)

One of my favourite restaurants in Sydney, and it never fails me. Every time we take someone there, either local or oversea visitors, they are always impressed. Will definitely be back.

Via Alta

Willoughby

Joan dined on Sun, 20th Dec 2015 (8)

Love your shared plate set menu which is of great value, especially good when we introduce our friends to your restaurant. The only thing is that you don't seem to have changed it at all since July which we find it very boring for us.

Annata

Crows Nest

Joan dined on Tue, 1st Dec 2015 (9)

Love their entrees. Lots of Italian wines to try. Will definitely go back and try their desserts as well.

Via Alta

Willoughby

Joan dined on Sat, 14th Nov 2015 (9)

Love to see some improvement on your desserts.

Catalina

Rose Bay

Joan dined on Sun, 8th Nov 2015 (3)

Very disappointed with quality of food, especially at that price. Coffee was probably the best element of the whole meal.

Claire's Kitchen at Le Salon

Darlinghurst

Joan dined on Sat, 24th Oct 2015 (4)

Very disappointed, especially with the main dishes (duck and lamb rack) which are both undercooked and lukewarm.

Lucio's Italian Restaurant

Paddington

Joan dined on Sat, 3rd Oct 2015 (8)

Their homemade pastas are always good. Portions are bigger than normal, so although degustation is of good value, we can never finish the dishes.

Pilu At Freshwater

Freshwater

Joan dined on Sat, 26th Sep 2015 (9)

We visit Pilu on average 2-3 times per year. Entrees and mains are always good, especially their pasta. Desserts seem to be their weakest link, I find.

Ormeggio at the Spit

Mosman

Joan dined on Sun, 13th Sep 2015 (9)

It will be a good idea to provide us diners with a printed menu to look at as we dine. The waiters are very nice and helpful but their English is a bit hard to understand.

French Touch Bistro

Surry Hills

Joan dined on Thu, 27th Aug 2015 (8)

Bit overpriced when they are among many other restaurants charging between $10 to $25 for a main course. Plenty was empty, went somewhere else for main then went back for dessert. Food and service were pretty good.

Public Dining Room

Mosman

Joan dined on Fri, 21st Aug 2015 (10)

Service was good until the end when the bill came without us asking for it and no more service after the bill was paid. Felt like they have had enough of us.

Bar H

Surry Hills

Joan dined on Wed, 12th Aug 2015 (8)

Loved sitting at the bar and watch how our food was prepared.

Via Alta

Willoughby

Joan dined on Sun, 19th Jul 2015 (8)

Always great friendly service.

The Governors Table

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Sat, 4th Jul 2015 (8)

Big disappointment. We were there for lunches a few times and were most impressed. Dinner tonight turned out to be totally disappointing. Both main courses were overcooked, vegies burned and even dessert was pretty average.

Via Alta

Willoughby

Joan dined on Sun, 28th Jun 2015 (10)

Love their Sunday Feast. Great food, great value.

Ester

Chippendale

Joan dined on Mon, 22nd Jun 2015 (8)

Good food, especially the ones from the woodfire oven. The only thing is the sequence of how they brought the food out. The raw fish came out last (after something really spicy and hot) and it makes the dish rather tasteless.

Ume Restaurant

Surry Hills

Joan dined on Sat, 6th Jun 2015 (4)

Very disappointed. With Japanese food especially sashimi, freshness is really important but it's what's lacking in here. Don't know how they survive, as there are so much competition in the area.

La Casa

Russell Lea

Joan dined on Sun, 31st May 2015 (8)

Great family restaurant. Good food and friendly service.

The Governors Table

Sydney CBD

Joan dined on Sat, 16th May 2015 (9)

Really nice salads with extremely fresh leaves. Burgers are pretty good too. Best place for pre-theatre near Opera House.

Signorelli Gastronomia

Pyrmont

Joan dined on Sun, 15th Feb 2015 (6)

Really disappointed with the vegetarian antipasta. Pasta of the day was so so. Wasn't even game enough to try their desserts. Not likely to go back again except for the wine.

Ormeggio at the Spit

Mosman

Joan dined on Sun, 25th Jan 2015 (9)

Great value sunday dinners and impressive italian wine list.

Moon Park

Redfern

Joan dined on Sat, 17th Jan 2015 (8)

Food was pretty good, didn't disappoint at all after seeing so many good reviews about it. The only thing is the acoustics despite the panels added in the ceiling. Can't really stay any longer to chat after we finish our meal at around 8pm and the restaurant started to fill up. What a pity.

The Argus Dining Room

Daylesford

Joan dined on Sat, 27th Dec 2014 (8)

Really nice entrees with the freshest of ingredients. Would love to go back for their vegetarian degustation menu next time.

Pilu At Freshwater

Freshwater

Joan dined on Wed, 24th Sep 2014 (9)

Love their homemade pastas. A must try.

WAQU

Barangaroo

Joan dined on Sat, 8th Mar 2014 (8)

Very enjoyable evening.

Efendy

Balmain

Joan dined on Sat, 10th Aug 2013 (9)

Best hummus and babaganoush. Excellent food. Lamb shoulder pie was great, though a little salty.

Joan hasn't selected a top 10 yet.
