For a busy Saturday night, our waiter was excellent. A little bit of a wait to have our order taken but it was a busy night so that was understandable. We were disappointed that 2 of the dishes on the specials menu were sold out but what we ordered was excellent anyway.

Manta Restaurant & Bar

Wonderful location of course. The food was above average. We wanted seafood and we weren’t disappointed. The carpaccio of Kingfish starter was particularly good. The service was fine for most of the meal but died away at the end of the evening.

Love this restaurant. The changing menu is always interesting as well as very appetising. Service is friedly and efficient.

Crows Nest

We left the restaurant as I made the booking on the understanding that it was a BYO which I read online. We were told that that was not the case on Saturday nights. There were regular customers next to us who had the same problem. The restaurant owner wasn't there and the waitress rang him and he flatly sain no. We had planned to order 6 expensive set menus and I was prepared to pay for the restaurants wine as it was a celebration dinner and we had come with special wines to celebrate. I was prepared to pay extra corckage but there was no give and take so we left the restaurant no happy about the treatment and went elsewhere.

Rose Bay

My starter was tempura oysters and the batter was gluey and heavy - not at all appealing. My lamb main course was beautifully cooked but I didn't like the overly puréed pumpkin and cream dollops which were like baby food. My partners pasta with Balmain bug meat was a very nice dish. I went for a romantic evening as it was my partners birthday but that didn't really work out as the restaurant really noisy; more than any other time that I've been there. Also one of the waitresses keep on bumping my partners chair as she went by without apologising. Our main waitress, an older blonde lady, however was excellent and attentive . Overall the evening was a bit of a disappointment I'm sorry to say.

Jersey Rd. Bistro

I normally and not a big fan of innovative modern cooking but Buzo is the exception to the rule for me. The flavours and preparation of our meals were beautiful. The service was exceptional too. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Richmond Hill Cafe & Larder

Peter dined on Fri, 16th Sep 2016 (7)

Has been a favourite in the past but I was a little disappointed in the fish and chips I had. I've found flathead works best as "fish and chips" in restaurants of a similar standard. The fish in this instance was a bland white fish, possibly perch, which made the dish uninteresting. The chips also were not great - the frozen variety bought in bulk. My friends Barramundi was much more apertising.

The Grand Dining Room

A Melbourne favourite of mine that I return to regularly when in Melbourne . Wonderful traditional Italian food with a modern edge. Service is always consistently excellent as is the food.

Berta Restaurant and Bar

Love this place! My third trip there in a month. Beautiful Italian food, great wine and excellently service.

Bei Amici

Darling Point

Peter dined on Sun, 14th Feb 2016 (9)

Bei Amici is one of my very favourite restaurants. I'm lucky enough to live just a few blocks away. It's fine dining at the start of an inner city suburban street. The service is attentive and friendly. The food is exception and unlike anything you will get elsewhere with Swiss and Italian influences combined with beautiful fresh, light flavours and sauces. The wine list is well constructed with very good choices "by the glass". Courses are just the right size so you can leave the restaurant without calling a removal van to take your stomach home! I have no trouble in recommending Bei Amici highly.

Berta Restaurant and Bar

Sydney CBD

Peter dined on Wed, 27th Jan 2016 (9)

This is way up there with my favourite restaurants. The food is always splendid with its great fusion of fresh produce. The Italian wine list is extensive and well selected. Service is way above average. I'll be back!

Berta Restaurant and Bar

I love this hideaway gem with fresh produce expertly prepared and flavoursome. The Boconcini Salad is a highlight and a must from the starter menu.. The sevice is first class and attentive. The wine list has all you need once you take the waiters' knowageable recommendations if you are not overly familiar with Italian wines. Berta is definitely on my list of favourites.
