Great neighborhood venue. Suckling pig a little fatty & not crispy enough but the prawn & snow peas and the garlic chicken were great.

The Emporium Parramatta

Parramatta

Craig dined on Sun, 17th Apr 2016 (8)

All dishes were good - heirloom tomato salad, scallops, fish of the day & pork hock. The latter had the best crackling ever! So thin & crispy. Our usual gripe is this restaurant is always cold. As guests arrive through that massive front door and inevitably leave it ajar the cold air smashes you. Staff don't notice as they are moving so keep warm. Also the bench seat has marble back on it which makes it very cold to lean on so cushions along here are needed.

Cafe Del Mar

Darling Harbour

One of those venues that potentially would be an absolute winner but fails to deliver the basics. Food was good apart from very gritty clams but the staff appeared to all be yesterday's arrivals from Europe who looked good, spoke with equally attractive accents but failed when it came to basics such as "where to I order my drinks from?"

Courtneys Brasserie

It's been our neighbourhood gem for years!

The Emporium Parramatta

Parramatta

Definitely the pick of any of the restaurants around Parramatta Eat Street precinct and has become our regular. Good food, wine & cocktails. Only criticism is we never feel warm in the restaurant - always need to keep the jacket on.

Abhi's Indian Restaurant

North Strathfield

Have dined here a couple of times and had takeaway many times - reliable good food and service

The Emporium Parramatta

Parramatta

We were offered a table in the outside garden area but as it was a cold night chose the safety of indoors. We froze! They have a massive entry door that stayed open and the staff were moving all the time so didn't notice the cold but we sat at the table uncomfortably cold all night. Other than that it is a good venue with a lot of promise.

Had the $95 degustation. Many amazing dishes. The last beef dish was too salty but everything else was very good which is why we keep coming back.

Oliveto

Rhodes

Got there at 12 and even though the restaurant was pretty empty we waited ages for someone to come and take a drinks order. Initial impression wasn't good but service picked up once we had ordered and we enjoyed our experience. We had a Fig entree ans a pork sausage one and rated them both very nice. Mains were a mixed seafood of scampi, prawn, scallop, barramundi & calamari which was very nice and a gnocchi with duck which was ok. Service was hard to find again once we'd finished. Pretty good experience. We'd go back.

Flower Drum

Melbourne CBD

Had the 6 course chef's degustation. WOW! Having a well dressed Chinese man deliver our meals with a "bon apetite" and spend time ensuring our hoisin sauce on our plates of Peking Duck looked like a duck...

Sevardi Wine Bar & Tapas

Beecroft

Great little neighbourhood restaurant. Have been there before. Nanata entree was great as were the prawns. Mains weren't as good, the fish special was ok but the sauce overpowered the fish which was a little overcooked and the pork belly was extremely fatty. The meat we could find was nice and tender but overall it was very fiddly trying to find the meat in amongst the fat and as the fatty layer was only lightly cooked it wasn't edible. Overall it was ok and we will come back as we have had better experiences previously.
