I enjoy dining at various restaurants all over the world. The food, presentation, service, friendliness of the staff and the price vary substantially. I find the ambience of the restaurant and knowledge of the staff, of their food and especially their wines, can make or break a dining experience.

Very helpul and attentive staff as we had 2 toddlers with us. They understood to feed them first and made suggestions for suitable finger food. Great for families as well as other groups.

The food was again delicious, as usual. We've been to Stonemill at least 6 times and we are always delighted by the flavour and freshness of the cuisine.Fresh fish and homemade pasta are better than most. Genuine home cooked Sicilian food.

Estelle Bistro

Four of us shared the Bistro Estelle Charcuterie. It was the best we'd ever tasted and generous in quantity. We followed with the Roast Lamb Shoulder for two. We ordered two serves for the four of us. Again a magnificent dish, although it could have fed six. Next time four of us dine at Estelle, we might share one Lamb Shoulder for two and one other main such as the Diamond Valley Pork. We shared two desserts, the Peach Sorbet and Chocolate Pave. Both fine, but unremarkable. The service could be improved as the drink order was incorrect due to the waiter not listening. Also, we were disappointed at a 2% surcharge on all credit cards!

Fabulous home made italian food

Fitzroy Town Hall Hotel

Fitzroy

The food was adventurous, pricey and served as a pub meal; shared plates were recommended but served all together. As a main we ordered a Scandinavian fish stew and a 1kg rib eye, to share. The rib eye was brought to the table first, then the very fresh fish smelling stew soon after. Not only was the round table too small for share plates for the 5 of us, I found it hard to enjoy my portion of rib-eye whilst the fish stew aroma drifted over my plate. Also, our round table was in a corner and so the waiter couldn't serve each of us unless he passed the food plates over some of us. In all, tasty food, but service akin to local pub service ie all dishes at once. Therefore I think it was too expensive.

Great homemade pasta. Very tasty, fresh food. Service a little rushed.

Ten Minutes by Tractor

Main Ridge

The food was delicately presented on the plate. We had the duck breast but found it not as tender as we'd like. It may be because it was served in much thicker pieces. The wait staff were very friendly and obliging. I ordered a glass of the local sparkling wine. It looked and tasted flat. The waitress was most apologetic and brought a new, unopened bottle to the table which she opened and poured immediately. She waited for me to taste it before removing the bottle from our table. Water service was a bit slow otherwise we can't fault the service. It was night time, so no view to speak of although we had a charming seat by the window and could see some illuminated ferns and shrubs. Tables were generously spaced so we couldn't really hear our neighbours' conversations. We'll return for another special occasion.

Excellent food. Great friendly staff with good senses of humour. One of the best restaurants on the Mornington Peninsula beach front. I will keep going there.
