Beer and pizza night, great pizzas, love peroni and the Robert Oakley red wine range is excellent

San Telmo

Melbourne CBD

ian dined on Wed, 5th Jul 2017 (9)

Loved the Argentinian wines ( malbec and cab sav blend). Pork jowl and deep fried broccoli were stand outs but every dish was superb.

Left Bank Melbourne

Southbank

ian dined on Sat, 1st Jul 2017 (4)

Disappointing night, seated at the far end of the dining area ( outside of heater and staff range). Freezing with the breeze blowing over the glass partition. After 30 mins went and asked staff if we could order a drink. Food arrived quickly and was very good, but became very cold, very quickly. Would not try again in winter, but will give it a go later in the year.

The French Brasserie

Melbourne CBD

ian dined on Sat, 24th Jun 2017 (9)

Food sensational, lamb was excellent. The mix of items on the plate with the lamb was perfectly matched. Kept us huessing what the flavours were but a stunning dish

Bistro Guillaume Melbourne

Southbank

ian dined on Thu, 8th Jun 2017 (7)

Issue with roasted chicken, thigh piece was pink and gelatinous around the bone. Other pieces were cooked perfectly. Mentioned to waiter who assured us that this is how the restaurant cooks chicken - not at all professional.

The Quarter Cafe

Melbourne CBD

ian dined on Sat, 3rd Jun 2017 (8)

Food is excellent, prices reasonable, cafe location in De Graves Lane, sauted vegetables was excellent as are chicken wings. Have eaten here twice and consistent and very tasty food.

San Telmo

Loved the food - pork jowl was a surprise but wow. Hanger steak and cured meat plate both excellent. Argentinian Malbec was sensational. Not cheap but what a great meal.

Fatto

Had expected ala carte menu - advised on arrival option was bar menu if we gave up table or two course fixed menu for pre theatre. Would have been nice if advised in advance.

Taxi Kitchen

ian dined on Mon, 15th May 2017 (9)

Great night, really enjoyed the food and the overall experience

Desi Dhaba

Melbourne CBD

ian dined on Fri, 12th May 2017 (9)

Great indian food. After reading many reviews that were good and bad, not quite sure what to expect. Best indian food I have had since working in India in 1988. Staff were brilliant, service quick and majority of customers were Indian families, groups or business men. Will become a local favourite.

Tutto Bene

Melbourne CBD

ian dined on Fri, 28th Apr 2017 (7)

Charcutterie plate was excellent. Had the lasagne - disappointed, meat sauce overwhelmed the pasta, too much sauce and bechamel was excessive for two sheets pasta. Mushroom gnocchi also excellent. Great coffee.

Tutto Bene

Melbourne CBD

ian dined on Sun, 9th Apr 2017 (9)

Stunning lunch as part of MFWF - two course meal with wine sensational.

Taxi Kitchen

MFWF lunch, meal and wines stunning

Red Spice Road

Melbourne CBD

ian dined on Tue, 28th Mar 2017 (1)

Great entree, terrible mains. Rice gluggy. Served the wrong wine, then had an argument with the waiter who insisted that it was custom in asia was to use the same bowl for mains and entree ( not a custom in 6 countries in asia over 12 years i lived there) or when a bowl is full of a sweet chilli sauce and you are waiting for soft shell crab. Pity as the venue is exceptional.

Downstairs Bistro & Lounge

Southbank

ian dined on Thu, 9th Mar 2017 (7)

Quiet night, not impressed with caesar salad dressing - lacked flavour, more like a mayonaisse.

Smallish menu but a great dining experience. Service was excellent and friendly without being intrusive, Great wine list. Food was superb.
