"One of my favourite Italian restaurants!"
"food is great, staff friendly"
"The food was good. We never felt rushed, even when they were closing up. Would go back or recommend to others"
"Parking is easy. Good food great service and nice price. Going back for the next special event in our family. "
"Thought it was expensive for pizza and a little pasta "
"Groupon had a deal on dinner for 2 at Il Goloso which made it exceptional value. The service was lovely and food delicious. "
"Came here with my boyfriend with the Groupon voucher.
Everyone else working that night seemed to be pleasant enough, but The Italian guy serving us was unfriendly and looked like he didn't want to be there. He didn't make eye contact with us while we talked to him, he just stared at his palm pilot. The food took a while to arrive, but considering that they were understaffed that night (as we were informed), the timing wasn't too bad. We did hear a couple sitting nearby complain when their mains came out before their entrees though.
Garlic bread would have been nicer had it not been swimming in excessive butter. For the entrees we had the spinach bocconcini balls which weren't bad, and the garlic prawns, which should really be called tomato prawns as they came topped with a tomato-based sauce with a bit of garlicy flavour that was quite tasty. For the mains, we had the super Alex pizza, which was very nice indeed. Not too much cheese and not at all oily. The base was really fresh - not to thick or thin. We also had the prawn and asparagus pasta with cherry tomatos, which was really delicious. The pasta tasted fresh to me and was a nice texture. The house red we were served was pretty standard.
We sat outside where the atmosphere would have been nice if it weren't for the cheesy in-house entertainment. Think 80s Yamaha loudly playing cliche Italian tunes and jazzy versions of songs like "Hey Jude" over the top of pre-programmed beats. Cringe! In the end it was actually so bad that we kind of enjoyed it, but it was clear that diners were trying to sit as far away as possible.
All in all, I'd say it's a good family restaurant (I'm sure kids would love it) and the voucher was good value but not being a local, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to return."
"We enjoyed the food. So very delicious. Great place for families. "
"We went here during the week and came back later in the week as it was such lovely food and good service."
"Excellet service and fresh asta"
