In a large homestead at the Windsor's Edge vineyard, this restaurant sits high on a hill, looking out over the countryside - affording a view from every table. Owner Amanda Patton and chef Sara Connors provide fresh, homely meals that are well suited to the country atmosphere. Start with the baked haloumi cheese on slow roasted roma tomatoes with basil and caper dressing, then try the roasted lamb rump with herb and eggplant salsa and wilted baby spinach. As a fully licensed restaurant, the wine list here is not restricted to Windsor's Edge wines, and instead provides a selection of wines from the whole of the Hunter region as well as beer, liqueurs and spirits. And if you feel those drinks are a little too tempting, organise to stay at one of the cute Windsor's Edge cottages.

"Fabulous food - great menu. Outside area is lovely. A little hard to find the first time - google maps were very inaccurate."

"The atmosphere and service were quite good. However, we were disappointed by the food. We ordered 2 entrée and both of them were ok. The main was the disappointing part; for the duck maryland, the sauce was too sweet and overpowered all other flavours and for the beef fillet, we asked for medium-well and it was cooked to well."

"Food lovely from entrees to dessert - 6 in the team and all enjoyed meals - our waitress perhaps a little to hasty on taking orders after only seating and then quite a wait from entree to main. Few little things like waiteress bumping into my chair trying to get round me (Im not big) to another diner, reaching across me and dripping water on my lap whilst refilling glass. but the meals were imppecable."

"We dined outside and it was a lovely set up. The service was attentive and friendly but not intrusive. We had two courses as that was a condition of booking on a Saturday night, starters were nice and my friends enjoyed their mains though I thought my duck was a bit bland. Five out of six sucessful dishes wasn't bad and though the food is on the expensive side it's balanced by the BYO option. Overall would recommend it. "
